Intro
New to yoga? Been a while? Our intro classes are the best place to get started. These classes are offered as series classes, five week sessions, to give the new student a solid introduction to the asana (movement), breath and meditative aspects of a yoga practice. Everyone is welcome to attend our intro classes.
All Levels
These classes are open to all students. The intent is to deliver a balanced practice, with a good overall stretch and some deepening of the breath. Adaptations will be offered for students who want to work a bit easier and for those who want to take things up a notch. Practices will vary depending on participants' needs for each class. We encourage everyone to work at their own pace and tune in to any challenges in the body.
Gentle and Gentle/Level 1 (Therapeutic)
These classes are for you if you're new and/or need to work a bit more gently in class. If you are recovering from an injury, have chronic pain, joint issues, or just want to move more intentionally through the practice, this class is a great option. The pace of the class will give you time to comfortably transition between postures (stretches) and teach you how to protect knees, hips and wrists as well as offer other adaptations that may be required. Everyone is welcome to attend our Gentle classes.
Flow
These classes are for you if you'd like a more active, flowing class. Flow classes are vinyasa style classes that flow the poses together in specific sequences, often to music. The class is faster-moving and tends to create a bit more heat. Good for experienced and beginning students alike.
Yin Yoga
Yoga as practiced in the West is almost exclusively Yang or muscular in nature. The Yin aspect of Yoga (using postures to stretch the connective tissue) is virtually unknown but vital for a balanced approach to physical and mental health.
The main differences between a Yin and a Yang Yoga practice are that Yin postures should be done with the muscles relaxed and be held a long time. This is because connective tissue does not stretch like muscle tissue. Yoga practitioners looking for something beyond physical postures, Yin Yoga addresses the deeper spiritual dimensions of Yoga.
Level I – II
These classes are for students with some prior yoga experience. If you’ve taken an introductory class, been away from a regular class for a while or been practicing on your own, this is a great class for you. All levels are welcome to these classes. Each class is adapted to the needs of the students and class.
Level II – III
These classes are for students with prior yoga experience, who are ready to take things up a notch. If you are practicing and/or taking classes regularly, are in good shape and ready to work more deeply with the postures, breath, meditation and possibly sound, this class is for you.
